Nerja is a place we seldom heard of, thus I have go search online for some information about Nerja.

Nerja is a municipality on the Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga, Andalusia, southern Spain. It is on the country's southern Mediterranean coast, about 50 km east of Málaga and within 1 ½ hours drive of Granada, you will find Nerja, the touristic capital of the Axarquia.

With its mild climate, you can enjoy yourself to the full all year round and take advantage of the relaxed way of life of a village that still retains much of the character of its moorish past.

Since it's a place where we are not familiar with, I have to be extra careful when choosing Nerja hotels. I come across holiday-rentals.co.uk when doing my searching, and found that they are the UK's number one holiday rentals site.

If we are going there in a group, we can book Nerja apartments to stay in too! I will have to plan my holiday to Nerja early to get everything well prepared!

Town of history - Melaka

Last month, hubby and I went to Melaka for a short trip. We have longed to visit this town of history, but the plans before used to failed due to the fact that most of us think that Melaka has nothing much to see. And the actual fact is that the town of Melaka is really very small, one can always finished sight-seeing the city by driving for at most 10 minutes! Visiting Malacca is a unique experience; its rich historical background earned it a World Heritage Site designation in July 2008.

Overall, this trip consist of eat and see only, no shopping was done! We also found that the sun is stronger in Melaka, we sweated like pig! We sweat when we eat, sweat when we walk around, sweat once walking out of the hotel's room. Gosh, I can't stand hot since I have allergy skin, I'll start feeling itchy when I feel too hot. Try imagine a monkey walking on the street? LOL.

However, though it's air is warm in Melaka, I'm sure I'll be back (to eat)!!!

Hong Kong trip - Day 5

Soon, it comes to the last day. Our relatives were so great, they came to our hotel to have breakfast with us at the restaurant on the 3rd floor of the hotel.

After eating dim-sum, I ventured into the restaurant's toilet. The toilet was even nicer compared to the hotel's toilet! And we were to flush the toilet bowl using a touchless flushing sensor - so high-tech!

We check-out our room after the breakfast, catch our last minutes shopping at Mongkok!

By 2.30pm, we sat ourselves in the free transit to Kowloon station, and took Airport Express to the Hong Kong Airport.

Hong Kong trip - Day 4

Wow, it took so long for me to upload the 4th day's photos.

Well, the 4th day is our Disneyland Day! This particular day, Hong Kong started to get warmer, and we were burned in the afternoon. We stayed and enjoy in Disneyland for a whole day and went to Hollywood Hotel which is one of the HK Disneyland's hotel to have buffet dinner.

Before we took MTR to Disneyland, we had our breakfast at a restaurant in the shopping mall next to the hotel. This is the best dim-sum restaurant we have been to during our stay in Hong Kong.

After breakfast, we took MTR to Disneyland. The Disneyland train that ferry us to Disneyland was fully decorated with everything in Mickey Mouse's shape!

Disneyland is kids' wonderland, but we do enjoy everything there. It's like we have entered a fairyland! I snapped thousands of pics! Everything is so nice, so fairy-tale......

We went into the souvenirs shop, and snapped photos again! LOL! However, I do bought a lock and key there. When walking around within the shop, I discovered a denim bag with Mickey Mouse design, I like it at first sight! But I think it's too expensive, so I drop the idea. I was so in love with the bag until I accidentally carried it out of the shop without knowing about it!!! But still, I was so stingy, I don't think it worth buying.

Throughout the day, we only managed to catch 4 cartoon characters for photo session. When we first reached there, Mickey and Minnie was there, but the queue is too long for us to wait. We thought we could meet them again later, but no more! But then, we were lucky enough to get others!

We watch some shows too! High School Musical Show, Lion King Show and The Stitch Show. The Stitch Show is the funniest but video recording was not allow, so can't show you all how funny. Be sure to watch the show when you go Disneyland!

There are many rides in Disneyland, we didn't take all. We chose those recommended by their staff.

When it comes to 3pm, when the parade will be on, most of the place on the road side filled up with people. We were fortunate to get a shady place too!

When it's getting darker, we sat down waiting for the firework! The firework is amazing!!!

Right after the firework, we didn't go back to the city. We headed toward Hollywood Hotel in Disneyland to enjoy our buffet dinner. They have made many foods in Mickey Mouse's shape. The tables and chairs are with Mickey Mouse's shape too. The best thing to have in the buffet is the Alaska Crab Leg - it's tasty and expensive if you were to buy other place!

We met up with Goofy just outside the restaurant, we took turn to snap photos and off we went to the shuttle bus station waiting for the bus to ferry us back to MTR station. That ends our day!

Hong Kong trip - Day 3

For the 3rd day, we went Mongkok for breakfast, all of us ordered wanton mee and add-on a polo bun. Hong Kong's wanton mee is a bit different from ours, their mee is harder and the wanton is bigger. Polo bun is more or less same with what we can get locally, but it's still hot when served.

Right after breakfast, we take MTR to Wong Tai Sin station to visit this famous temple which shows a lot in Hong Kong drama. Wong Tai Sin is a Chinese deity popular in Hong Kong with the power of healing. Everyday Hong Kong people flock to this temple to wish for good health and prosperity. I've made my wish there, hope it will comes true!

Next, we travel back to Mongkok for the Ladies' Street, Sneakers Street and Goldfish Market. If you are going to Mongkok, do visit Argyle Centre. My MIL and I manage to grab each a handbag and a pair of shoes!

Okay, we had been walking for some time. So we randomly chose a restaurant to dine in which I didn't even feel like eating when I saw the food served (I may be due to my fussy taste, nothing wrong with the food, just my taste's different).

After a late lunch at 3pm, my FIL and MIL decided to head back to the hotel, take some rest before meeting up with a relative who came from Dong Guan, China. She will be coming to meet us at hotel lobby by 6pm.

Hubby and I sent my FIL and MIL back to hotel and went back to Mongkok! LOL! Non-stop shopping! No la, not shopping actually, both of us enjoy window shopping. We shopped until 5pm, until both our legs were too heavy to walk back. LOL!

Our relative was waiting at the hotel lobby for us by 5.30pm, she brought us to a restaurant for dinner. It's the most proper dinner we had since we reached Hong Kong. I think this dinner is quite expensive!

Our relative then brought us to visit another relative who accidentally broken his leg while working. He is hubby's grandpa's younger brother. Thus my FIL called him "Sei Sok" - Fourth uncle. He and his family stayed in govt. flat which we used to hear in Hong Kong drama - Gong Ok. I only snapped some photos outside, dared not snapped pics inside the house!

Without wasting our time in Hong Kong, we took MTR to Yau Ma Tei. We went to the Temple Street, nothing much to describe, it looked like our "pasar malam".

Hong Kong trip - Day 2

Woke up early for some make up! LOL

2nd day, we woke up 7am, taking MTR from Price Edward to Yau Ma Tei for breakfast.

Reached Yau Ma Tei, we walked and walked to find the famous Mido Cafe, recommended by guide books and also online bloggers. We walked passes Temple Street before we found Mido Cafe. Only when we found the Mido Cafe that we were told that the shop will open by 9.30am, which is an hour away, so we dropped that idea and went to the nearby restaurant - Garden Restaurant for dim sum.

Check out the dim sum! All of them are made with big big prawn not small ones compared to ours!

Right after the sumptuous breakfast, we again walking to MTR, riding to Tung Chung toward the next destination - Ngong Ping 360 for cable car to Ngong Ping Market and Giant Buddha.

Following that, we returned to Tung Chung Station via the same cable car. We took lunch at McDonald's in the Citygate Outlets - a huge shopping mall consist of many branded outlet!

Well, done shopping. We ride on the MTR back to the city - Causeway Bay. Causeway Bay is a place where shopping malls are selling branded stuff which aren't meant for us (me) to buy. LOL!

Before we departed to Hong Kong, I've done a lot of research. According to my research, that's a shop called 许留山, famous for desserts. We found a branch near Causeway Bay, went in and try. But may be our Malaysian taste is different, we al found that our dessert in Malaysia is way more delicious!

It's dawn when we finished walking at Causeway Bay, so we took MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui to the Avenue of Star.

It's end of the day again, we went back to the hotel, took a simple dinner at the shopping mall next to the hotel and went back to rest.

Hong Kong trip - Day 1

On this very 1st day to Hong Kong, my FIL was very excited, we started our journey by taking Yoyo bus to LCCT on 7.30am, reaching LCCT around 12pm.

After a speedy check-in with a kiosk while I don't know why so many people still waiting in the long long queue, we just drop off our luggage at a specific counter. And off we went to KFC for lunch. Not long after lunch, it's time for boarding, we then went into the air craft which flies us all the way to Hong Kong.

Done claiming our luggage, we went to the customer service dept in the airport, bought Airport Express tickets and Octopus cards. Octopus card is a must in Hong Kong, it can be used to pay for MTR, and buy things, even McDonald's accept Octopus card for payment! With Airport Express, we reached Kowloon Station for free shuttle bus to ferry us to the Royal Plaza Hotel.

Reaching hotel around 7.30pm, all of us took a simple dinner at the connected shopping mall next to the hotel, and went straight to The Peak (not even taking bath - can you smell something?).

Since it was late by the time we reach The Peak, we had not much time left to visit Madame Tussauds Wax Museam. We could snap some photos outside the was museum though.

We didn't took nice photos at The Peak, those who familiar with DSLR will know why. We forgot to bring the tripod. If one need to shoot nice photo with a DSLR camera, one have to fix the camera on a tripod to avoid "shaking effect".

My FIL, MIL, hubby and me are going to Hong Kong this Friday.

After such a long time planning, gathering info on Hong Kong, finally we are going to Hong Kong.

All of us are exciting about the trip especially my FIL, he always saying that he had jot down everything he want to bring along, asking me for a few times for departure/arrival time, asking whether we had plan well with the itinerary, etc. LOL.

By the way, hubby and I will go separate way with my FIL and MIL on one of the days during our trip in Hong Kong. Hubby and I are going to Disneyland while my FIL and MIL are going to Macau. I'll find a Macau tour for them when we reached Hong Kong, this would be safer for them!

Still counting down.... 3, 2, 1......

4 pax in a HK hotel's superior room?

I have been searching throughout the Internet and going to Matta Fair for more information on Hong Kong. Yes, another DIY tour!!!

My in-laws, hubby and I are going on a free-n-easy tour on our own to Hong Kong since I manage to get cheap air ticket of RM360 per pax including seat allocation and 15kg luggage checked-in.

We are going to share our room in Hong Kong. I have book a room with 2 double bed in Mongkok, Hong Kong. I'm not worry about the bed size since I've check it out on Tripadvisor, the beds are larger than most Hong Kong hotel's single bed.

What I worry most is the fact that all the hotels only accommodate 2 person in a room, will only allow 1 more child to be in for most case. However 4 of us are going to stay in a room! I doubt the management will kept quite about it. Hubby and I planned to check-in with just 2 of us, follow by my in-laws sneaking in later.

What do you think? Have you stayed in Royal Plaza Hotel, Hong Kong? What would you say about it?

* $$ is the main reason we share a room but it is also due to my MIL fear of haunted hotel room!

Muzium Sultan Abu Bakar, Pekan

We pass by the Muzium Sultan Abu Bakar when my uncle brought us to Pekan for dinner. Since it was located near the shop where we were going to have our dinner, my cousin, hubby and I walked our way to the museum's main entrance. The time was ticking 6pm when we were there, hence the museum was closed, we were only able to take pictures from outside.

According to the facts I found through internet:

The Sultan Abu Bakar Museum is the state museum of Pahang. Located in the royal town of Pekan, it is only natural that the Royal Galleries merit a thorough inspection as they display a vast range of state regalia and other artifacts that speak of the colorful heritage of the sultanate.

The museum building was built in 1929 to replace the original wooden bungalow built in 1888. Used as the residence of the British Resident for several years, the building underwent several renovations and restorations. During the 2nd World War, it was used as the headquarters of the Japanese Army in Pahang. After the war it was converted into the official palace of the late Sultan Abu Bakar and was renamed Istana Kota Beram. In 1975, the Pahang State Museum Board turned the building into what it is today.

While we were in Kuantan, hubby's cousin went Cherating Beach for holiday.

So my cousin, hubby and I went Cherating Beach for a visit. Cherating Beach is just half an hour away from Kuantan with the new East Coast Highway.

Cherating is a famous beach town in Pahang, Malaysia. Cherating, located about 47 km north of Kuantan, is famed as the location of Asia’s first Club Mediterranee (Club Med). There are a number of fun activities to do in Cherating including batik painting, where you can paint and design your own print on t-shirts, sarongs and scarves.

Cherating also houses a cultural village and a turtle sanctuary. At the turtle sanctuary, you can learn about the lifecycle of turtles for free. The turtles lay their eggs between July and August, so if you're lucky, you might witness the turtles lay their eggs! Another tourist attraction is cruising up the Cherating River to watch glowing fireflies. Fishing is also an activity enjoyed by many.

The best city to live in - Ipoh

If you ask me "where is the best city to live in?", I'll shout out "Ipoh".

Why Ipoh?

Because Ipoh is the place where I was born, was brought up and grown up in. I found hubby in Ipoh, married to him in Ipoh too. I have all my sweet and sour memories here in Ipoh.

Some history lesson:

Ipoh developed into one of Malaysia's main cities due to the booming tin mining industry around the turn of the 19th century. During the British colonial era, Ipoh was Malaysia's second city for administration purposes. There are several notable buildings from the British Colonial era such as the railway station and the town hall. 70% of Ipoh's population is of Chinese origin.

The name Ipoh derives from a local tree, pohon epu or now more commonly known as pokok ipoh. The sap of this plant is poisonous and was used by Orang Asli (indigenous people) to coat the tips of the darts of their blowpipes.

Ipoh was formerly known as "Paloh" (Chinese: 壩羅) among local Chinese, referring to the gigantic mining pump used for early tin ore extraction. It was also called "the Town built on Tin" (Chinese: 锡城) and "City of Millionaires", referring to the vast fortunes made during the boom of the tin mining industries.

Other nicknames include "The Bougainvillea City" and "Shan Cheng" (Chinese: 山城) which means "The Hill City" in the Cantonese dialect.

These days Ipoh is best known for its excellent restaurants, wonderful caves, beautiful temples and famous local dishes. Ipoh is also best known for giving birth to pretty girls!

Sydney Fish Market

Sydney Fish Market, a place where we heard long long time ago before depart to Australia. Hubby and I take a bus to Pyrmont, walk cross a few street and reached Sydney Fish Market. It's easy!

Sydney Fish Market incorporates a working fishing port, wholesale fish market, fresh seafood retail market, a delicatessen, a sushi bar, a bakery, a gift shop, a fruit and vegetable market, a beverage outlet, a seafood cooking school, indoor seating and an outdoor promenade for visitors. There are daily wholesale auctions for Sydney's seafood retailers.

Hubby and I bought a lot of great cooked seafood inside Sydney Fish Market, and because all the seats are fulled due to the Easter holiday, we went across the street to a large field, sit down to enjoy!

Hubby and I went Sydney on free and easy, no guide was appointed to bring us around. Thus I had put in a lot of effort finding our own itinerary.

Melaka is located on the Western Coast of Peninsular Malaysia facing the Straits of Melaka.

I wanted to go Melaka. I've have been there long long time ago. And because I have got my DSLR, I could have get lots of great pictures there. Delicious nyonya food is a main attraction for me too!

I have listed here the must go places in Melaka. If possible, hubby and I will stay in Melaka for one night during Chinese New Year's holiday.

Jonker Street - Known worldwide among famous antique collectors as one of the best places to hunt and bargain for antiques.

Christ Church - Built in 1753 by Dutch to commemorate a century of their rule.

Hang Li Poh's Well - It is said that the well never dried up, not even during times of extreme drought. It has long since been converted into a wishing well.

I have been there during my secondary school time, with hubby. lol

When you are in Sydney, do not left out Paddy's market. I bought a lot of souvenirs and gifts there with cheap price. LOL

Paddy's Markets is a commercial enterprise that has two large markets in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Paddy's markets are located in Haymarket and Flemington and specialise in the sale of fruit, vegetables, fish, clothes and giftware.

Flemington Paddy's is the larger site and specialises in fruit and vegetable sales. The market is the primary delivery service of these products for Sydney. The market has a wholesale sales section that caters to larger business and general sales to the public. The market is the central marketplace for Sydneys farmers to sell their products. Paddy's Flemington also has Sydney Central Fresh-Cut Flower Market, that is the central provider of flowers to Sydney's florists. On weekends, the markets also feature clothes, gifts and souvenirs. There is also a second hand market, where vendors set-up a sales stand selling a range of second-hand goods.

The Haymarket Paddy's is located in the 'Market City' site, beside Chinatown and is more like a traditional flea market, specialising in cheap imported clothes, giftware and also has a small section for fruit, vegetables and seafood. Paddy's Haymarket also sells souvenirs which makes it popular with tourists. Market City features these markets along with The Peak apartment building and a modern shopping centre containing a food court, restaurants, boutiques, specialty shops and a cinema complex.

There were street performance outside Paddy's market on the day we visit. I've snap some photos. It was amazing!

Hubby and I went Butterworth last Sunday, so we cross the Penang bridge to visit Penang too. After some shopping at Queensbay Mall, we went to visit the newly opened Hard Rock Hotel. It is very glamorously built!

At the entrance to the lobby, do not forget to look up, there is some lights of the word "Hard Rock Hotel" hanging down from the ceiling, they will change into different colors every few seconds! Many people are wondering inside the hotel, some of them only "window visit", some swimming in the pool and some sitting on the sofa enjoying themselves!

We didn't book any room there for our CNY holiday. Penang is just 2 hours away from Ipoh, I rather go Melaka during the CNY holiday!

St Mary's Cathedral is the first place hubby and I went. It is located very near the hotel we stayed. So we just walk and walk until wow, what a grand church! Without knowing about any restriction of public visit, we went in to explore!

St Mary’s Cathedral stands in the centre of Sydney as a Christian statement of grace and beauty. Generations of artists have bequeathed to it their magnificent gifts in stone and glass, designing a unique space of solace and prayer within this vibrant city. This Cathedral represents the spiritual origins of the Catholic Church in Australia. It is one of Sydney's most treasured historic buildings and one of the finest examples of English-style gothic churches in the world. William Wilkinson Wardell, the 19th century architect, dreamed of a gothic structure shaped from the local yellow-block sandstone on which this city is built. The building was finally completed 100 years after the architect's death. The Cathedral is dedicated to Mary Help of Christians.

Hubby and I just came back from Australia.

The flights are extremely on time for Air Asia and Jet Star. We arrived at the destination earlier than the estimate arrival time.

We are on free and easy for this trip and everything was running smoothly.

We check in to the hotels in Sydney and Gold Coast without any problem. The hotel in Sydney is very nice with a cert published rating 4-star. It is real nice and we enjoy staying there and was always taking away our dinner backed to enjoy. Our only dissatisfaction was on the hotel in Gold Coast. The hotel is said to own a 3-star rating, but to us it merely have a star!!! All the wooden furniture are ROTTING!!! And most horrible that it is HAUNTED!!! Someone disturb me while I bath! I prayed hard to leave this god damn hotel as soon as possible.

For the destinations and attractions, Sydney is better compared to Gold Coast. Sydney's buildings are more toward England style, classically and beautifully built. Most of the attraction are free of charge! While Gold Coast as a place where theme parks are welly-known had mostly a charged entrance fee for every attraction. I prefer Sydney and hubby promised to bring me backed to Sydney next time.

Hubby and I are going to have a 8D7N free and easy trip to Sydney and Gold Coast, Australia on the coming April which is only a week from now! Wow, I'm really excited and looking forward for it! I have been doing a lot, really a lot of researches about the attractions, transport, and accommodation in both Sydney and Gold Coast.

Our air tickets from Malaysia to Gold Coast have been bought for a year, when Air Asia giving out free seats. The tickets cost only RM787 round trip per person, including 15kgs luggage allowance and seat allocation.

For air tickets from Gold Coast to Sydney, I just bought last month with Jet Star. It costs Aussie $264 round trip per person, including 20kgs luggage allowance and seat allocation.

Four nights of 4-star-hotel-stay in Sydney costs RM1,413 and three nights of 3-star-hotel-stay in Gold Coast costs RM876.

Application for Australia visa costs RM20 per person.

One thing special I've found out during my research, all the travel agents are very very selfish! Even the one where I paid for my hotel booking and visa application would not give me any advice on the transportation in Australia! But anyway, I depends no one but myself, searching through the Internet finding our own solution! And most delighted, I found what I want!

For our transportation in Sydney, we'll depends on the "Sydney Pass" which includes "Sydney Explorer", "Bondi Explorer" and most of the train, ferries and local buses. All we need to do is to buy a 3-day-ticket which cost Aussie $115 per person. It includes train service from the airport to city too.

On the other hand, we will buy "Freedom Pass" which includes airport transfer, unlimited theme parks transfers and unlimited travel on the local bus network. A 3-day-ticket costs only Aussie $58 per person.

Arriving in Sydney, it is a must to pay a visit to Sydney Harbour, Sydney Opera House, Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Fish Market, Taronga Zoo, Rock Markets, Bondi Beach, Manly Beach and shopping at Paddington.

While in Gold Coast, visiting to the Warner Bros Movie World, Sea World and Dreamworld are probably a must also. There are also other interesting places such as Currumbin Sanctuary, Paradise Country, Wet n' Wild Water Park, Mount Tambourine, Sirromet Winery, Mt Nathan Winery and Catch-A-Crab at Tweed Heads.

I'm not sure whether there are Golf in Australia. But by the way, I knew that there are company which offer golf holidays (Golfreisen), offer a golf license that is necessary to play golf in Germany (Platzreife) ad also offer online shopping possibilities. If you wanted to go somewhere for golf, check it out!

The Kellie's Castle

Kellie's Castle is one of the famous place for visitors to Perak. It is located near Batu Gajah, about 20 minutes' drive from Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. The unfinished, ruined mansion, was built by a Scottish planter called William Kellie Smith.

Kellie's Castle was to surpass his estate bungalow. Construction of this unique castle began in 1915. Seventy tough workers, mostly from Madras, were employed and bricks and marble were imported from India.

But during the construction, tragedy struck. A mysterious illness broke out, killing many of Smith's workers. The superstitious Smith was told that a temple must be built to appease the gods. He immediately transferred his workers to build a Hindu temple nearby.

Work resumed after the temple was completed but the castle was never to be realized. Tragedy struck again. On a a short trip to Portugal, at the age of 56, Smith died of pneumonia. It came to an abrupt halt with Kellie's sudden death in 1926.

His heartbroken wife decided to pack up and return home to Scotland selling the estate and Kellie's Castle to a British company called Harrisons and Crosfield and with the passing of time, and the end of colonial rule, the castle soon faded into memory.

Besides being haunted, the castle is believed to have hidden rooms and secret underground tunnels.

As one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Niagara Falls is indisputably one of this continent's most important tourist destinations. Niagara Falls hosts as many as 15 million visitors annually. They come from all over the world to see the Thundering Waterfalls of Niagara.

Niagara Falls is the largest waterfall in the United States. It is divided into the Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls. The volume of water approaching the falls during peak flow season may sometimes be as much as 202,000 cubic feet per second.

The most complete views of Niagara Falls are available from the Canadian side of the river.

The best time to visit Niagara Falls would be April-May.

It's really attractive when looking into the pictures and description of the Niagara Falls, but I wonder if hubby and I have enough money to travel to Canada.

MHlow fare offers at least 70% discount
MHbasic have deals of at least 50% discount on tickets booked 14 days in advance
MHsmart have deals of at least 20% discount on tickets booked 7 days in advance. MHsmart customers will also enjoy 75% miles accrual under the Enrich programme and 25kg baggage allowance instead of the usual 20kg.
The full fare MHflex ticket can be bought up to 24 hours in advance and bookings can be changed at no extra cost. MHflex customers can carry 25kg baggage and earn 125% mile accrual.

Low cost carrier AirAsia has implemented a new baggage policy effective today.

Passengers can now choose from three tiers of baggage sizes when purchasing tickets online.

For domestic flights:
Supersize Regular (up to 15kg) for RM5
Supersize Medium (up to 20kg) for RM43
Supersize Large for (up to 25kg) for RM80

For international sectors
Supersize Regular (up to 15kg) for RM20
Supersize Medium (up to 20kg) for RM55
Supersize Large for (up to 25kg) for RM105

With the implementation of Supersize, customers no longer have to pay the checked-in baggage handling fee of RM5 per piece of luggage. This means passengers who option for Supersize Regular can check-in more than one piece of luggage but only pay RM5 as long as the total weight does not exceed 15kg.

The over-the-counter excess baggage fees remained at RM15 per kg for domestic flights and RM20 per kg for international sectors.

Hubby and I went to Cameron Highland with my auntie and cousin last week.

Cameron Highlands is a highland region located about 121 km east of Ipoh and about 214 km north of Kuala Lumpur, in Pahang, Malaysia. Although it is still 2 months away from my birthday, but I'm now starting to think what I want for my birthday! I love traveling. Hubby and I are going to Australia on April 2009. However I'm now wondering where we could go after the Australia trip.

I remember a friend of mine told me about traveling to San Francisco. It was a lovely place.

San Francisco is well-known for its diverse ethnic and political communities, hilly terrain, world-class restaurants and scenic beauty. It is located on the West Coast of the USA at the tip of the San Francisco Peninsula and includes significant stretches of the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay within its boundaries. San Francisco is very famous for its hills. There are more than 50 hills within city limits. San Francisco is the home of the 50s beat generation, the 60s flower power students, the 70s gay rights movement, the 80s culinary revolution and, of course, the 90s technology boom.

Hubby and I prefer to travel on our own, so we need to book a san francisco hotel in advance.

Kuala Lumpur’s 5-star hotel - One World Hotel

Hubby and I went to Kuala Lumpur during the Deepavali, to meet up my auntie’s family from Kuantan. We stay one night in a 5-star hotel located beside One Utama Shopping Mall named One World Hotel.

It’s really fabulous. The interior design was stunning. Hubby was reluctant to go out of the room for shopping. The room was equipped with a 42” LCD TV and internet access, three phones inside the room with one of it in the bathroom!

The hotel lobby is decorated with flower in the morning, nicely decorated flower!

I wish this could change into my house, so that I could stay here forever!

Cheap Aussie dollars

Hubby and I will go Australia in April, 2009. We’ve bought air tickets during Air Asia Free Seat promotion in mid-year 2008. I’m planning way long before the date, asking travel agencies to quote us ground trip.

I’ve also checked with money changers last few months, which let me know that the rate is $3.20. That means I need to use RM3,200.00 to buy Aussie $1,000.00.

Recently, my friends told me that Aussie is dropping. They advised me to buy it earlier to avoid it going up again. I check it out in Ipoh’s money changer, rating $2.50.

During the trip to KL in Deepavali, we found that a money changer in One Utama Shopping Mall’s selling at $2.46.

Gosh, we didn’t bring that much of cash with us! So hubby called our brother-in-law for an emergency help! He banked in the money to my banking account immediately. In the other hand, we withdraw it directly at the ATM machine! Thanks a lot for his help indeed!

We changed Aussie $1,000.00. I’m not sure whether this enough for us. But, since we would bring our credit card along, I don’t think we’ll face much problem.

So, go and change some foreign currency now if you were to go travel to foreign country! This would probably save you a lot!

From Kuantan, look out for signboards that point you to Pantai Teluk Chempedak which is located just 10 minutes outside the city centre. This popular beach is hosted by the international-class Hyatt Regency Resort.

If there is a vote on which beach is more popular on the East Coast of Malaysia, Teluk Chempedak will definitely rank head-to-head with the well-known Pantai Cherating. Teluk Chempedak is the closest beach attraction for the city of half-a-million dwellers. Hence, it is not uncommon to see the beach is filled with evening strollers, kite flyers, windsurfers and even swimmers.

Teluk Chempedak can be considered to be very fashionable. The beach itself is rather average, with run-of-the-mill beach sands and somewhat murky waters. Yet, the beach hosts quite a number of eating joints and night clubs that are well patronized by locals and outsiders alike. Taking on the prime spot is a McDonald's outlet which has recently been renovated to feature bigger dining areas and fresh al fresco design in a brightly painted building. Right before the entrance to Hyatt Regency Resort is another popular outlet called Palm Beach Bistro housed in a fancy thatched-roof café fronting the beautiful beach. Further from the beach are a number of eateries and night clubs housed in a row of old shop houses that have been tastefully renovated.

Postpone trips to Thailand unless they are urgent

There have been no reports of Malaysians affected by the clashes between pro- and anti-government protesters here yesterday, but the Malaysian embassy has advised Malaysians to postpone trips to Thailand unless they are urgent.

Malaysians in Bangkok have been advised to avoid rally grounds in the Thai capital as the situation may change instantly and without warning.

Despite the state of emergency declared by Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej, there was no curfew or restriction on the movement of people. The clashes were confined to specific areas near the Government House and Rajamdamnoen Road, while most parts of the capital remained calm and business went on as usual, except for schools which have been closed for 3 days.

Furthermore, there is a possibility to face inconvenience in terms of transportation or a strike by some state agencies, citing the ongoing disruption of railway services as well as the closing of airports a few days ago in Phuket, Krabi and Hatyai.

In clashes early morning September 2, a man was killed and at least 40 people injured, some by gunshots, when pro- and anti-government supporters clashed near the seized Government House, forcing hundreds of Thai soldiers to move in to restore order.

On Aug 26, thousands of anti-government supporters stormed Government House, the seat of the prime minister's office, while hundreds of rival pro-government groups tried to evacuate them on September 2.

Company trip to Hatyai

This is our company's first ever company trip! We are going to Hatyai, Thailand for 3 days 2 nights.

The city is located about 30km (18.5 miles) from the Thai-Malaysian border. Hat Yai is a lively boomtown, the business centre of southern Thailand and also a popular tourist destination, particularly for men attracted by the nightclubs, massage parlors and brothels that are prohibited in certain country. A real interesting attraction is the huge reclining Buddha; you can enter the statue's torso to view the lungs and heart. Traditional bullfighting where bulls lock horns and push each other until one retreats is a popular spectator sport.

We stay at Novotel Hotel for these 2 nights. Nice room with excellent service. I'm actually surprise to see a staff standing beside of the lift just to push the lift's button for us.

There are Japanese buffet at the hotel lobby, looks delicious, however I myself never eat sushi, I don't like the feeling of eating raw meat! So I didn't try.

Picnic at Pulau Batik

Starts journey on 5.30am from Ipoh to Teluk Batik, make us possible to reach there by 7am. A total of 5 cars with 20 of us decided to pay a visit here few days before. Teluk Batik is very well known in the State of Perak. It seems all local people know this beach.

Once we reached at Teluk Batik, we unpacked all food and starts our breakfast! We brought breads, fried mee, curry chicken, hot dogs, nuggets, watermelon, mangoes, etc.

After 5 hours of picnicking, we packed and went on for our lunch!

Arriving home at 4pm finally.

Honeymoon at Pulau Redang

We went Pulau Redang for our honeymoon after our marriage on 07.06.2008. We drove all the way from Ipoh to Kuala Terrengganu for 8 hours, reaching the jetty by 10am to catch the ferry to Pulau Redang. It took about 2 hours from the jetty to the island.

Redang is located 45 km off the coast of Kuala Terengganu is the largest of the group of islands dotting the South China Sea off the Terengganu coast. The island offers crystal clear waters and numerous dive sites for the enthusiast. Sheltered within the Redang Island Marine Park, the waters here abound with marine life.

Redang Archipelago exists of 9 islands that abound with marvelous marine fishes, turtles and coral reefs that ensure great snorkeling and scuba-diving. The boat trip starts from the fishing village of Merang. This is a fishing village North of Kuala Terengganu.

The best time to visit Redang is between April and October. Take note that most resorts are closed during the Northeast Monsoon, which blows from November to March.

Redang island is perfect for snorkeling, swimming, scuba diving, jungle trekking, boating and canoeing. This paradise-like island offers crystal clear water, pearly white shores, a colorful array of spectacular marine life, a breathtaking sunset and what could be the world's most mature coral gardens. This is your chance to see and be acquainted with the local eel, giant grouper, black tipped shark, etc. Chance encounter with the Green turtle and Hawksbill turtle is common. There are corals of every imaginable shape, size or color. The observant are rewarded with sights of flatworm, nudibranch, shrimp, squid, cuttlefish, stonefish, lionfish and pipefish.
